Another one bites the dust.

Yet another widely-acclaimed, internationally accepted and loved webcomic artist has decided to redo her comic from square one because she no longer likes the beginning. I am extremely tired of authors/artists doing this, aren't you? She's going to get a bunch of comments like "take your time, we love you!" but I am so tempted to just scream "it's old work, learn from it and move on, you lazy bastard".

I don't like the beginning of GF anymore than you guys. It's ugly and a bit loose. But you know what? I can accept that. I've learned from it and am moving on. I'm reWRITING GF into a book so it's a little tighter, but I'd never throw on the E-stop and go back to the beginning, only to make you wait even longer for updates.

She's leaving her comic in a terrible place for readers. It's the middle of a chapter. And as for the track record, seems like a good amount of comic artists give up the story ENTIRELY while trying to redo it. You can't step into those places over and over and, fine you've grown up and you're smarter, the story may be different to you now. Just MOVE ON.

Because of this, I have removed the link from my list and my update schedule. This person didn't bother to put up much of a notice for her loyal readers and considering how BIG her work is, that's really disrespectful.

You readers may follow her in her journey backwards, but I am not. I'm not going to deal with the heartache anymore.

The comic is good. Enough homoeroticy to keep any fangirl happy and enough death and weird shit going on to hold a guy. It was Crowfeathers. I didn't want to mention it because I don't want to send people there. It'd be like "here are the directions to some guy yelling on a soap box and spitting on people".

I'm pretty bummed that CF isn't updating either (and not because of the semi-selfish reason of awaiting the appearance of the character I named in a contest ;) ).

Also, I like Go Fish's beginning, but I'm terrible about dispensing criticism. ^^;

Here lemme help you:
The art is a pitiful attempt at the comic book genre and the story is akin to a shaken box of pissed of starving ferrets: when someone looks into it, they aren't going to be happy.
That's pretty close, I think. But yeah, GF was built on anger so there didn't need to be cohesion. You bastard readers just keep making me want to do it and get better.

Damn you all. :: shakey fist ::

The mental image of Baxter opening that box of pissed off ferrets popped into my mind & I couldn't help but giggle.

I think it's just our nature as artists to hate our own work. I know I find flaws in my work all the time.

Thanks for info, the begining of gofish was what drew me in,it was so intense,and different emotionaly believble characters made me think of dogma if it was an online comic .art wise it did the job and had its own aesthetic appeal.

so PRops!. from saturncrow at Gaiaonline.com
